John Basedow is a TV and internet personality, news reporter, model, author and motivational speaker, He’s also the creator of the best-selling Fitness Made Simple video series, which has helped to improve the bodies and lives of hundreds of thousands of men and women. From starting out in his parent’s basement to being seen on television sets across the country and deemed a “pop culture icon” by the media, John’s journey is an American dream come true “rags to riches” story.
Fueled by an undying persistence and his personal motto “believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything”, John has achieved international recognition and created a media empire with Fitness Made Simple, which includes DVDs, CDs, supplements and infomercials all aimed at raising awareness about the importance of making fitness a part of your life.
In addition to being a model who has graced the pages of many major magazines, John’s a well respected columnist and author of the book Fitness Made Simple: The Power to Change Your Body & Life, published by literary powerhouse McGraw-Hill. He works with various charities, including the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association, for which he received an award and was the Honorary Spokesperson at their StepOut Walk To Fight Diabetes.
Most recently, John’s been doing health and entertainment/pop culture news reports that run on Aol, Huffington Post, USA Today, MSN, Yahoo News, HollywoodLife, Examiner and other major sites. These videos get hundreds of thousands to millions of views.
He hosts and produces popular online TV shows, New Media Stew and NMS Culture Pop, which feature celebrity/pop culture news, movie reviews and entertainment event coverage. In 2013, he won the Pop Goes the Culture Award for Pop Culture Icon.
John has become a recognized social media personality, partly due to his #WakeUpWords motivational Vine and Instagram videos, which are designed to inject positivity and self-empowerment into the internet.
